Thrust ball bearings cannot bear radial load and have low limit speeds.
One-way thrust ball bearings can only bear loads in one direction. If they carry loads in both directions, double-direction thrust ball bearings must be used. Thrust ball bearings must be subjected to a minimum load or preload. When the shaft is vertical, the weight of the shaft usually exceeds the minimum load. At this time, due to the influence of the axial external load in the opposite direction, the applied load can be reduced.
When the thrust ball bearings runs at high speed, the contact angle between the steel ball and the radial plane of the raceway will be affected by centrifugal force, which will cause the steel ball to slide relative to the raceway. Adhesive wear caused by such sliding can damage the bearing. In order to avoid such damage, a minimum load on the thrust ball bearing must be ensured.
Key points of thrust ball bearing assembly
There are two key points in the assembly of thrust ball bearings. One is to control the extrusion quality of the cage and the steel ball, and the other is to control the nominal height T after the bearing is assembled.
In addition, since the collar and seat ring can be separated, management problems arise. This is to prevent the mixing of imported bearing parts. M-type stamping cage uses a flange assembly die. After pressing, the steel ball needs to be flexibly rotated in the bag, but cannot fall from the bag. Therefore, the amount of movement of the steel ball in the bag should be checked according to technical regulations. If the solid cage is embossed too deep, the amount of movement of the steel ball will be small, and the connection between the protruding part and the cage is too small and insufficient in strength, which is easy to block and cause the cake to loosen. scrapped. The difference between the inner diameter of the small thrust ball bearing race and the collar is very small, and there is no obvious difference between the two groups. In order to prevent the phenomenon of hybrid bearings, assembling the bearing group found that they are all seat rings or collars. This requires certain measures.
Usually, auxiliary tools are used to distinguish the ring and the seal ring during installation, or the inner diameter plug gauge is used to check the inner diameter size before sampling the nominal height. In order to check the inner diameter, place the seat ring underneath and the collar on the top. If the inner diameter of the valve seat has obvious quenching heating oxidation color or is no ground, there is no need to check the inner diameter size. The difference between the collar and seat ring can be clearly seen and is not easy to mix. After the thrust ball bearings is assembled, the nominal height T needs to be measured to confirm whether it is qualified. When measuring, please use height blocks or standard parts to calibrate and measure the load. The bearing needs to rotate dozens of times and must reach the minimum height.
